Kari Jobe - The Garden Tour - My Experience

This past Saturday, March 25, 2017, I had the opportunity to worship with Kari Jobe, her husband, Cody Carnes, and the opening band, Leeland. I had such a great time. The worship night was much needed for my soul. Kari reminded us to keep God the center focus, which is a good reminder that God is who we worship and not Kari or anyone else. The night was ultimately about healing. Kari shared a story about her sister, Kris, who gave birth to a stillborn baby, James Ivy, whom is now in Heaven with Jesus. Kari shared with us the pain and the grieving process with her sister, Kris, having to lose her baby, and celebrating a new life with the birth of Kari's son, Canyon. In that process God was revealed to Kari in the garden that was behind of Kari and Cody's house in Nashville. In that garden was ivy that rose high above the fences. It reminded Kari of her niece, James Ivy. Kari wrote the album, "The Garden" from a very real and raw place in life. For her tour, The Garden Tour, Kari wanted to bring the garden to the people. It was a reminder that the garden is where Jesus spent his last few minutes with God before He was crucified on the cross for our sins. The garden is a place we can go to and have intimacy with the God. Kari and her team did a spectacular job with bringing the garden to us. On the stage, she had an LED screen which had floral visuals (along with a lot of other amazing visuals), her mic stand was covered with ivy, and she even had a floral scent that was sprayed throughout the church. Just about all of Kari's merchandise was floral print. & yes, they are the cutest ever!

Her opener song was, Lover Of My Soul, which I think is an amazing song that invites the Holy Spirit to come and fill the place. Kari, asked everyone that night to lift their hands if they needed healing. Just about everyone in that room lifted their hands, me included. She prayed for those of us with our hands lifted high and told us that if we needed healing that night, to
ask God and He'll bring healing. It is by His stripes that we are healed and by His death that we can live. She also said, "The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but the thing is, Jesus paid it all for everyone when He died on the cross. Whatever the devil tries to steal, kill, and destroy, the devil has to repay. God's already overcome."  Kari lead everyone in worship with such grace, vulnerability, and with such a pure heart. I love all of Kari's songs. There's so much declaring and honoring God and who He is. One of my favourites she sang that night was, Oh The Power. It declares that King Jesus takes the highest place because He defeated death and its grave. Kari closed with her hit song, Forever. It was amazing seeing thousands of people singing with their hands raised to Heaven.
I cannot wait until Kari and Cody come back to my city. I'll be there for sure! :)
